Support with Confidence

Support with Confidence

Surrey County Council's adult social care services and trading standards, in partnership with Surrey Independent Living Council (SILC), have developed a quality assurance initiative called Support with Confidence.

Personal Assistants (PAs) can obtain and display the Support with Confidence logo if they have:

  • Undertaken and passed the Support with Confidence training with SILC
  • Signed up to a code of conduct under Surrey County Council's Support with Confidence scheme
  • Obtained a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

As a person requiring a PA, the benefit of using someone who is registered with the Support with Confidence scheme is that they will have completed and passed the 6 day Support with Confidence training, already obtained a DBS check and be ready to start work.

As a PA, the benefit of registering with the Support with Confidence scheme is that you will have received specific PA training, have a current DBS check and are likely to be considered more favourably by potential employers.
