27 September 2010 - 29 September 2010

SILC is running another of its highly successful programmes of awareness training for Personal Assistants on the 27th, 28th and 29th of September 2010. The sessions will be run at the Astolat Building, Coniers Way, Burpham, Guildford, GU4 7HL.  Lunch will be provided.

 

DAY 1 – 10.30 to 16.00

●          Introduction to Independent Living and core principles of providing care and support

●          Safeguarding

(This session will be particularly useful to both Personal Assistants and their employers)

 

DAY 2 – 10.00 to 16.00

●          Introduction to Health & Safety (part 1)

●          First Aid and Medication                            

●          Infection Control

●          Food Hygiene

 

DAY 3 – 10.00 to 16.00

●          Introduction to Health & Safety (part 2)

●          Fire Training

●          Moving and Handling

 

These sessions can be attended as a block of 3 days or individually over a number of sessions.  Certificates of attendance are issued for each individual day.
